A costly mistake

This month the fuser on my printer blew up. I have had the printer since COVID and ever since had it plugged into a power strip. I learned the hard way it should have been plugged in directly to an electrical outlet. It was a costly mistake which I should have quickly reacted to. Then about a week later my hard drive overheated and it too was plugged into a power strip. And then looking around just about everything in my home office is aided by a power strip.

A costly mistake

It’s not uncommon to not have enough electrical outlets in older homes and buildings. However my home office was remodeled fifteen years ago. But we do have a lot of electrical items such as two calculators, two computers, two printers, two sets of speakers, postage scale, coffee maker, television (for our calendar), portable fan, shredder, four telephones and other misc. items.

I then had my favorite electrician come by my office and change all of my electrical outlets to quads with USB so we can charge our devices. Hopefully you can learn from my costly mistake.

I use power strips a lot too. But my printer always gets it’s own plug. Not sure where this knowledge came from but good thing I know it iguess
