When I am hired to sell a home, I first need to determine whether or not the owner wants to get the most money out of the sale. Some do and some want to move on. My listing at 5081 Fallhaven Lane in La Canada will be closing next week…. there were bumps in the road, but we persevered and sold the home $150,000 over the asking price. So, here’s a run-down of the before and after of this La Canada listing.
The first order of business was landscape spruce up to maximize curb appeal. We filled in the rocks, added mulch, and did a general cleanup.
We had the property inspected and made some plumbing and electrical repairs. New light fixtures were ordered and installed.
We had built-in cabinets removed from the dining room and master bedroom. Then we painted – during the course of painting, the painter discovered mold. We had to hire a mold company and during the course of abatement a cabinet needed to be removed. We replaced carpet and hired a staging company to create an inviting setting that potential buyers could envision themselves living in.
