Now that the pandemic is winding down, broker’s caravan days are returning. Last Thursday, Kris and I had the opportunity to preview the Girardi Estate. Located at 100 Los Altos Drive in Pasadena’s San Rafael Hills neighborhood, this Myron Hunt estate is now listed at $8,200,000. (Subject to bankruptcy court approval). This four-bedroom, nine-bathroom home was listed in May 2021 for $13,000,000.
From what I understand, Tom Girardi was a member of Annandale Country Club, Jonathan Club, and Lakeside Golf Club before his financial demise.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans can glimpse Erika Jayne’s former home. The grounds, salon, and primary suite are fit for a queen. The architecture, hardware, and attention to detail are a pleasure to behold. There is an excellent maid’s quarters or guest suite downstairs off the kitchen and upstairs a chapel.
In my opinion, the big negative is the freeway noise. The kitchen is a mishmash of high-end appliances with (two) Kitchen-Aid dishwashers. Not out of place are the older furnishings, reminiscent of the former Ritz Carlton parlor. But the Girardi Estate could be a fantastic home for the right buyer.
