Here’s the list of my favorite walkable Los Angeles Neighborhoods. I find more people are walking than ever before. Personally, I find walking boring, but I do like walking to a destination. There are many high density walkable neighborhoods in Los Angeles. But, I am going to focus primarily on low density areas ideal for destination walking.
The Foothill community of Montrose is very walkable and that is why Sparr Heights real estate is so desirable. Bordering Montrose Shopping Park, this is a walker’s heaven. I have had clients that the walk to the weekly Farmer’s Market to buy fresh flowers each week.
Growing up in Glendale, on Saturdays my school friends and I would walk and shop Brand Blvd. We would be gone for hours. Personally, I prefer low density neighborhoods. Most everything near Brand Blvd, Central Ave. and the Americana are very congested. My favorite walkable neighborhood in Glendale is near Kenneth Village. There is a small market, bakery, coffee house, restaurant and more.
Any La Canada neighborhood near Foothill Blvd. bordered between Angeles Crest and Gould is extremely walkable with a scattering of restaurants and the La Canada Town Center. My husband and I frequently walk to Taylors Steak House from our La Canada home.
There are numerous quaint shops, coffee houses and restaurants on Riverside Drive in Burbank and Toluca Lake. Burbank’s Magnolia Park is another great neighborhood for destination walking with a shopping and dining district featuring one of a kind boutiques and restaurants.
Pasadena is one of the most walkable Los Angeles cities. Although more densely populated any neighborhood near Old Town places you near fine dining and upscale shopping and the Norton Simon Museum.
