Gio’s La Canada had their soft opening last Tuesday. Kris and I decided to stop by after previewing the newest listings on the La Canada caravan, which were only three homes.
We each ordered a sandwich, which came with a side salad. We brought them back to the office to eat. In addition to breakfast and lunch, they have a variety of pastries to satisfy every sweet tooth. Having been a longtime fan of Gio’s in Montrose I have anxiously awaited their La Canada opening.
It will likely be a popular spot for morning coffee meetups. Some of their delicious pastries include Creme Brulé, Eclair, Cannoli, Pistachio Cannoli, Fruit Tart, Raspberry Tart, Pear Tart, Peach Tart, Tiramisu, Strawberry Cake, Cheesecake, Mini Cake (Mango, Raspberry, Tiramisu, & Chocolate) and Beignets.
We were surprised that they opened directly next door to Jersey Mikes. Not that you can compare the two businesses, but they do both sell sandwiches. Often, commercial leases have non-compete clauses. This should have eliminated two similar businesses in the same commercial development.
Welcome Gio’s La Canada to the neighborhood!
