Closing Day
If you have come this far, you are almost ready to be moving in. However, there are still some loose ends:
Final Walk-Through Inspection.
More of a formality than anything else, the final walk-through takes place several days before closing. You will visit the property to verify that everything is basically the same as when you first agreed to the purchase. In addition, you will want to be sure that everything included in your purchase is still there.
Home Services and Utilities.
We will provide a list of useful numbers to activate home services and utilities before closing.
Be Prepared.
We are ready to assist you should an unforeseen glitch pops up, even at this last stage—something at the property breaks down or some other minor detail – no need to worry. We have encountered these problems before, so we know how to handle them efficiently and stress-free.
Closing.
Escrow will provide the buyer and seller with a settlement statement, which summarizes the details of all charges. If you are obtaining financing, you must sign all pertinent documentation required by the lending institution. If you bring funds to escrow, you can elect to either have the funds wired electronically into the escrow account or bring a certified cashier’s check. The seller should arrange to have all property keys and any other important information for you at the closing so that you may receive these items at this time.
