As my parents are from Michigan, we grew up playing board games. During the holidays, we now play Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary. I just returned from a visit to my sister in Washington State, and we played Catch Phrase. It’s electronic, and you can take it anywhere. In the spirit of fun and games, here’s a little open-house trivia:
It’s interesting how much has changed about real estate, but open house statistics are fairly much the same.
According to NAR’s 2014 Profile of Home Buyers & Sellers, only 9% of buyers purchased a home that they first saw at an open house, while 5% met their agent at an open house. At the same time, though, 44% of buyers used open houses as a source of information during the home search process. Little has changed from 20 years ago: In 1995, 41% of buyers used open houses in their search process; 5% bought a home they first saw at an open house, and 8% first met their agent at an open house.
