Why does a man have a cave and a woman a she shed? Is there a little gender inequality here? And what’s better, a man cave or a she shed?
When I was growing up, my grandpa’s pride and joy was in his garage. His domain consisted of numerous tools, a workbench, and all kinds of gadgets, and he would tinker in there for hours. But times have changed, and a generation of men left the garage behind for their personal man caves.
Women are asserting their desire for their own space — the she shed — rather than being excluded. My mom sewed; sadly, the machine was in their bedroom, but in a perfect world, she would have had her own sewing room or a shed. I think the concept of arts and crafts is nice, but personally, I don’t understand the need to leave my home to go to another room/space in the backyard.
Here are some photos of she sheds. What do you think?
