You should check out Chi Dynasty in Los Feliz if you love a good Chinese meal. Brothers Jonathan and Justin Chi opened the restaurant in 1983 in Glendale to elevate Chinese cuisine by using fresh ingredients and providing quality service. After a brief hiatus, they successfully expanded to Los Feliz, where it has become a neighborhood landmark. Jonathan Chi and his sons Jason and Johnny manage Chi Dynasty, maintaining the original philosophy of using only the freshest ingredients while introducing an upbeat and vibrant decor to the dining experience. They are known for offering a blend of traditional Chinese flavors with a contemporary approach, serving authentic Chinese dishes.
Chi Dynasty has garnered a reputation for signature dishes like the Chinese chicken salad. My favorites are the orange beef, steamed dumplings, chicken in lettuce cups, and jade chicken. I have never had an entree there that I didn’t enjoy.
If you enjoy a good mai tai, you’ll find it there, along with a full bar. They serve lunch from Friday through Sunday and are open seven days a week. Their delicious food inspired me to buy two Chinese cookbooks and a wok to make my favorites at home. Chopping an hour or two ahead of time makes meal prepping much easier.
