I just returned from a seven-night Pacific Coastal Cruise. I am a member of the Italian Catholic Federation at St. Bede Church in La Canada. Our group planned this trip and there were a dozen of us who went. As I paid for the internet package, I was easily able to check the MLS each morning for new listings, price reductions and recent sales. Kris and Joe were in the office to handle showings.

A Realtor’s quick trip: We departed on a Saturday afternoon and returned on Saturday morning. The best part of this cruise is that you leave from Long Beach – no airports. On Monday, I wrote an offer on a home Kris showed for me in my absence. Fingers crossed…… It’s a tough market for home buyers in most price ranges.
I am often amazed by how many times a home buyer will contact me because their real estate agent is out of town and can’t show a home, write an offer, etc. This is why being part of a real estate team is so important. Real estate is a seven-day-a-week job. And although holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas can be slower, there is often client inquiries to tend to – even on major holidays. Sometimes it’s negotiations, other times a problem a client needs help with.
Cell phones have been a game changer for a Realtor’s quick trips and longer vacations. Years ago, when traveling to Europe, my team would respond to my email daily, but if they had questions would forward to my Hotmail email account, which I would check every other day from Internet Cafes. Now, with my iPhone, I can either respond or forward an email to a team member with instructions.
