Pasadena Museum of History’s new exhibition, “Where History Meets the Road” traces the impact of Route 66 and the evolution of “roadside culture” along Colorado Boulevard. By examining the Boulevard as both a transportation corridor and cultural symbol, it becomes clear that Route 66 themes – mobility, commerce, nostalgia, and reinvention – have had a lasting impact on Pasadena. Interpretive text, memorabilia, and photographs will illustrate how this historic corridor shaped—and continues to shape—Pasadena’s urban landscape, economic activity, and historic preservation. The Burbank Autumn Arts Festival recently showcased local artists, live music and food, while the city’s arts calendar continues with gallery exhibitions, theater and live performances. This weekend, check out “Catch Me If You Can: The Musical” at The Colony Theatre, explore the Rats exhibition at Gallery 839, or catch The Buzzer as part of Conundrum Theatre’s New Works Festival. Burbank’s thriving arts scene makes it an easy—and entertaining—weekend destination for art lovers.
Through February 7, 2027  “California Visionaries: The Lives and Legacies of Walt Disney and Hubert Eaton.” The exhibition explores the personal and creative relationship between Walt Disney and Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks founder Hubert Eaton, highlighting the philosophical and artistic parallels that shaped their respective legacies and the iconic parks they created. Hop on the free weekend shuttle, the Wander the Wilderness Bus, which provides direct service from South Glendale to Deukmejian Wilderness Park. Once you arrive, you can explore at your own pace: hike scenic trails, go birdwatching, enjoy a picnic, or step into local history at the nearby 100-year-old Stone Barn Nature Center. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, making it easy to enjoy a flexible outdoor adventure.

Moonlight Rollerway is a beloved local landmark that has been rolling since the 1950s. Rosso Wine Shop hosts wine tastings every weekend. The general theme is “Try Three Wines for $12.” Start with a white wine, then move on to two reds. Typically, the second wine is light to medium-bodied, followed by a fuller selection to finish the tasting. Meanwhile, new wines are featured each weekend, which keeps the experience fresh. Guests can also order wine by the glass or choose from a variety of beers. The tasting takes place at 3459 N. Verdugo Rd. in Glendale.

Downtown Burbank Cultural Market. This unique outdoor market takes place every Friday and Saturday from 5:00 to 9:30 PM and Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the corner of Palm Avenue and San Fernando Boulevard, along the AMC walkway in Downtown Burbank.

Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind brings her first solo museum exhibition in Southern California to The Broad, organized in collaboration with Tate Modern. Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind invites visitors to actively participate in many of Ono’s works. The exhibition turns simple actions into expressions of peace, hope, and connection. On East West Bank Plaza, The Broad’s olive trees become Wish Trees for Los Angeles. First presented in 1996 at Shoshana Wayne Gallery, the installation encourages visitors to write down their wishes and tie them to the tree branches, creating a living symbol of hope for Los Angeles. Griffith Park Attractions: Explore hands-on exhibits, step into the planetarium, and take in sweeping views from Downtown to the Pacific. Head down the hill to Travel Town Museum and climb aboard historic trains. Then, wander through the Los Angeles Zoo. Finally, ride miniature trains along wooded tracks at the charming Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum—yes, adults fit (barely) —and it’s worth it.
